Veritas is a nonprofit network of Saturday schools for gifted and talented youth in grades 5-7 (Veritas Preparatory Program) and grades 8-12 (Veritas Debate Institute). Through a suite of programs, Veritas provides accelerated academic and professional development training to make students ultra-competitive for prestigious colleges and impactful careers.

(Grades 5 – 7)

Early Access & Exposure

Veritas Prep is a weekly Saturday school for 5th-7th-grade students who want to be challenged beyond what’s taught in traditional school. Veritas Prep provides early exposure to college-level academic training in subjects that accelerate reading, critical thinking, and public speaking skills. Veritas Prep is a multi-year program that feeds into the Veritas Debate Institute.

(Grades 8 – 12)

Study & Compete at Harvard

Veritas Debate Institute (VDI) is our nationally recognized flagship program. VDI is a weekly Saturday school that teaches college-level subjects like philosophy, political science, economics, debate, and more. Students train for one year in preparation for a summer residential program at Harvard University, where they study and compete with gifted and talented youth worldwide in an academic debate competition.

Developing World Leaders

Our global travel program develops global-minded leaders by offering immersive and educational travel experiences to some of the most captivating destinations around the world. Students get to explore places like Dubai & Abu Dhabi, Italy, Japan, South Africa, and many more.

Developing Corporate Leaders

Our corporate immersion program immerses scholars in the lives of senior-level executives at major corporations. Scholars visit a range of companies across various industries, using the accelerated problem-solving and communication skills learned in the Veritas classroom to develop and pitch solutions to the most pressing challenges in corporate America.

Our

History

Veritas was founded in 2017 at Harvard University by Brandon P. Fleming, an award-winning author, educator, and former Harvard debate coach, as a campus program called Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project. During his tenure at Harvard as assistant debate coach, Fleming identified the need for more representation of students from underserved communities in Harvard’s summer residential debate program, understanding how such prestigious academic opportunities impact students’ chances to earn acceptance into elite colleges and universities. With Harvard’s support, Fleming founded the Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project to create access for Atlanta youth to study and compete in Harvard’s annual summer residential debate program.
