Veritas
at a Glance
Veritas is a nonprofit network of Saturday schools for gifted and talented youth in grades 5-7 (Veritas Preparatory Program) and grades 8-12 (Veritas Debate Institute). Through a suite of programs, Veritas provides accelerated academic and professional development training to make students ultra-competitive for prestigious colleges and impactful careers.
Veritas proudly welcomes students from all backgrounds, ethnicities, and walks of life.
(Grades 5 – 7)
Early Access & Exposure
Veritas Prep is a weekly Saturday school for 5th-7th-grade students who want to be challenged beyond what’s taught in traditional school. Veritas Prep provides early exposure to college-level academic training in subjects that accelerate reading, critical thinking, and public speaking skills. Veritas Prep is a multi-year program that feeds into the Veritas Debate Institute.
(Grades 8 – 12)
Study & Compete at Harvard Debate Council
Veritas Debate Institute (VDI) is our nationally recognized flagship program. VDI is a weekly Saturday school that teaches college-level subjects like philosophy, political science, economics, debate, and more. Students train for one year in preparation for a summer residential program at the Harvard Debate Council Summer Workshops in Cambridge, MA, where they study and compete with gifted and talented youth worldwide in an academic debate competition.
Developing World Leaders
Our global travel program develops global-minded leaders by offering immersive and educational travel experiences to some of the most captivating destinations around the world. Students get to explore places like Dubai & Abu Dhabi, Italy, Japan, South Africa, and many more.

Our
History
Veritas is a nonprofit educational institution founded by award-winning author and educator Brandon P. Fleming. Established in 2017 on the campus of Harvard University, Veritas was created to provide youth with access to prestigious academic and career-focused programs that make them highly competitive candidates for top colleges and universities.
For eight consecutive years, Veritas scholars have outperformed students from around the world in an international academic debate competition at the Harvard Debate Council Summer Workshops. Through Veritas, hundreds of students have gained pre-collegiate training at the Harvard Debate Council, recently admitted for career development experiences at the University of Oxford, received externships with Fortune 100 companies, and studied abroad — including South Africa, Japan, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, and Poland.
The impact of Veritas has been featured in national media such as CNN, Forbes, and Good Morning America, and has attracted support from national figures, including Steve Harvey. The Veritas story is also chronicled in Fleming’s bestselling memoir, MISEDUCATED, which is currently being adapted for both stage and film.
Today, Veritas continues to scale its mission nationally, expanding programming to serve students across Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, and beyond.
