SURPRISE! Veritas Has Officially Arrived in Los Angeles
Fifty students in the Compton Unified School District thought they were arriving for the third and final round of admissions interviews. Instead, they walked into a surprise that would change the trajectory of their academic journey: they had been selected for the first-ever Veritas cohort in Los Angeles.
In partnership with the Compton Unified School District, Veritas has officially expanded to Los Angeles, welcoming 50 exceptional scholars into the inaugural Veritas Preparatory Program cohort.
Over the next year, these scholars will gain early access to the kind of rigorous academic training typically reserved for college students, including philosophy, political science, humanities, debate, and more.
The journey to this moment was highly competitive. Over the past two months, more than 100 students from across the district participated in multiple rounds of rigorous admissions interviews and evaluations. From that extraordinary pool of applicants, 50 scholars were selected to make history as the inaugural Los Angeles cohort.
This moment marks the beginning of a new chapter for Veritas, for these scholars, and for the future of education in Los Angeles.
