This past year has been one of the most transformative experiences of my academic journey.
I spent months studying philosophy, rhetoric, and other foundational subjects, followed by two intensive weeks learning debate all leading up to being selected for the Harvard Debate Council Summer Workshop Residency.
Even though I came in with prior debate experience, Harvard introduced me to a completely different format and a higher level of rigor. I’m genuinely proud of how much I accomplished. The program pushed me to think deeper, research smarter, and debate with more precision and confidence. These are skills I’ll carry with me for a lifetime.
Beyond the academics, Harvard gave me something even more meaningful a community. I met students from around the world who became lifelong friends, people I’ll cherish forever. Those two weeks were challenging, exciting, and unforgettable. I already miss them.
I hope I made my family proud. With relatives who attended Harvard before me, stepping into that legacy meant a lot. I’m deeply grateful to my parents for investing their time and support, and to my grandfather for investing in my future. Their belief in me made this possible.
Harvard didn’t just make me a better debater it made me a better thinker. And I’m excited for what comes next.
